Through the medium of Native American culture and wilderness training, we help create positive change for students and families in a unique outdoor setting. Our program involves a journey of emotional growth through a non-deprivation teaching environment. hmt.realitytrek.org The removal of the adolescent as far away as possible from what they know is essential to allow him or her to begin a process of positive change. Most programs are geared towards adolescents from age 14 to age 17.5. The adolescents we work with are not HARD-CORE criminals or those with other legal or that have been diagnosed with major mental or nervous problems. They are GOOD KIDS who are starting to make poor choices in regards to friends, school, drugs, clothes, attitude and family relationships. Many have had issues with divorce or adoption and/or are just not dealing with adolescence well. Many students have been diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, depression and/or bi-polar disorder. Many have no diagnoses but are generally struggling and making negative choices which reflect in their attitude, behavior and belief system regarding themselves and the world around them. We help these individuals find themselves and learn to love themselves, not as they are, but as they can become, so they can also love their families and those who care about them. This gives them a chance to move forward and to control negative issues that have hindered positive growth. We have a very high success rate. We have successfully treated over 10,000 adolescents during the past 15 years. The program cost is between $3000-$4300 per month. We have loans that will make the payments between $200 & $500 per month over a longer term. By taking advantage of a loan program, you may be able to take $200 off the monthly fee.
